UK Grassroots Support: Liveline Fund Opens for Promoters and Artists

A new initiative from MVT, SOS, and AIP offers financial safety nets for the UK's independent music infrastructure.

The Liveline Fund has launched to address the escalating financial risks of independent touring and event production. A collaboration between the Music Venue Trust, Save Our Scene, and the Association of Independent Promoters, the fund provides a much-needed buffer for a struggling sector. At the core of the initiative is a Guarantorship Scheme that covers up to 80% of losses on eligible shows. This allows promoters and venues to book talent without facing total financial ruin if a night underperforms. Additional streams target specific structural gaps. The Regional Access Fund subsidizes travel to areas often bypassed by tours, while the Local Scene Development Fund focuses on promoter training and hire costs. A dedicated Genre Specific fund also supports communities facing disproportionate operational barriers. Applications are now open. For those running DIY spaces or independent tours, this is a pragmatic tool for sustaining the circuit against rising overheads.
