Berlin’s Academy of Subcultural Understanding is expanding its tuition-free program to support emerging club owners worldwide.
The Tresor Foundation is taking its 'How to Run a Club' curriculum global. Spearheaded by the Academy of Subcultural Understanding, the program aims to provide aspiring venue owners with the logistical and philosophical tools needed to sustain subcultural spaces.
Running from July through October, the course includes bi-weekly digital prep sessions and a three-week intensive in Berlin. Participants will work directly with staff from Tresor and OHM, covering the essentials: door policy, booking strategies, and long-term financial modeling.
Founded by Dimitri Hegemann, the initiative focuses on urban preservation through culture. Applicants aged 21-35 who have recently launched or are planning a project can apply without fees. The deadline is June 29, requiring a one-page vision statement and a 60-second video.
