Major platforms are drawing a line in the digital sand, implementing new identification tools to tag AI content and redirect royalties to human artists.
TIDAL and Traxsource are officially cracking down on AI-generated tracks. Both platforms have introduced detection systems to flag synthetic content, ensuring original creators—not algorithms—receive proper credit and compensation.
TIDAL’s new policy automatically tags fully AI-produced music and blocks fraudulent impersonations from earning royalties. The platform’s directive is clear: direct-to-fan sales and payouts are reserved for human-made works.
On the electronic front, Traxsource is categorising submissions as either "human-made" or "AI-assisted." Partnering with firms like SoundPatrol and SH Labs, the marketplace aims to preserve the value of craft in an increasingly automated landscape.
As Traxsource co-founder Brian Tappert notes, AI isn't disappearing, but these measures ensure the financial incentive stays with the artists behind the music.
