Two commissioned paintings were lifted from the Tomorrowland Restaurant during the festival's first leg. While one piece has been recovered, another remained missing heading into weekend two.
Collectors took appreciation too far during Tomorrowland’s first weekend. Two original paintings, part of a six-piece commissioned set for the 'Consciencia' theme, were stolen from the on-site restaurant despite active security measures.
The works, titled ‘Love’ and ‘Desire,’ represent universal emotions. Following a public appeal by festival organizers, an anonymous couple returned ‘Love’ to the festival’s lab in Boom. However, the second piece, ‘Desire,’ has yet to resurface.
Spokeswoman Debby Wilmsen confirmed the recovery and expressed hope that the full collection would be intact for the second weekend crowds. The theft adds a strange footnote to a weekend already marked by high-tension logistical shifts, including a total ban on pyrotechnics due to local wildfire risks.
With weekend two underway, the focus remains on the music—including standout sets from the Symphony of Unity and Calvin Harris—but the search for the final Consciencia canvas continues.
