A new exhibition at REinsTate documents the visual language and countercultural gravity of the UK's most influential sound system.
Spiral Tribe’s legacy moves from the field to the gallery this autumn. From September 16–19, East London’s REinsTate hosts a deep dive into the collective’s archive, curated with direct input from six original members.
The program avoids nostalgia for its own sake, instead focusing on the technical and visual frameworks that defined the free party movement. Expect a mix of workshops, panel discussions, and screenings that dissect the system’s impact on electronic music culture.
While the main exhibition remains free, the specialized workshops and live sessions require tickets. The week concludes on September 19 with a warehouse session at Distillery N17 featuring the SP23 crew and Unmasked residents.
This London stop follows successful runs in Manchester and France, acting as a definitive record of a crew that fundamentally remapped the UK’s sonic and social landscape.
