West Coast icon Snoop Dogg brings his life story to the big screen through Death Row Pictures and NBCUniversal.
Universal Pictures and Death Row Pictures have locked in August 6, 2027, for the release of 'Snoop.' The film marks the first major output from the partnership between NBCUniversal and the rapper's production house.
Directed by Craig Brewer with a screenplay by Joe Robert Cole, the project casts Jonathan “J.D.” Daviss in the title role. Production is already active following a preliminary announcement in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Snoop Dogg describes the film as his equivalent to 'Straight Outta Compton,' aiming to provide a definitive account of his career and impact on global hip-hop culture.
The biopic lands amid a busy period for the artist, following recent gaming collaborations with SEGA and charitable sampling projects with Dr. Dre.
