Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique recently wrapped its seventh edition in Brighton, culminating in a surprise Sunday appearance from actor-turned-DJ Simon Pegg. Returning to the On The Beach series, the event leaned into local ties and cinematic nostalgia.
Pegg, who has been honing his technical skills since 2022, delivered a set tailored to his filmography, featuring nods to the Cornetto trilogy. The performance served as a warm-up for Norman Cook’s eventual stage takeover, marking another collaboration between the two following last year’s Minehead weekender.
The festival's programming spanned wider than simple celebrity cameos. Highlights included a Saturday performance from the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, who reimagined 'Right Here, Right Now' and Nirvana’s 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' alongside the Big Beach host.
