Following the release of 'Sexistential', Robyn delivers a stripped-back interpretation of a 1994 synth-pop staple.
Robyn has surfaced at Maida Vale Studios for Jo Whiley’s Sofa Sessions, performing a cover of Erasure’s 1994 single 'Always'. The Swedish artist reinterprets the Vince Clarke-penned ballad with the level of restraint expected from her recent output.
The session also included live versions of 'Sucker For Love', 'Talk to Me', and 'Dopamine' from her latest album, Sexistential. Released via Young in March, the LP is her first full-length project since 2018’s Honey and has already seen remix treatment from Jamie xx and Arca.
Beyond the performance, Robyn recently explored the record’s themes of sensuality and creative drive in a documentary with Joseph Mount for BBC Radio 6 Music. It’s a busy period for the producer, following a recent double-vinyl reissue of the Body Talk trilogy.
