Orbital's Landmark 1994 Glastonbury Set Receives Official Release

Thirty years after changing the DNA of festival programming, Orbital’s 1994 NME Stage performance is finally getting the full restoration it deserves.

Orbital’s 1994 Glastonbury set is the definitive pivot point where electronic music broke the festival mainstream. Previously only available as partial BBC broadcasts or bootlegs, the performance has been meticulously restored for its first official release on London Records. Dropping September 25, the release includes a double LP on colored vinyl, CD, and digital formats. It captures the Hartnoll brothers at their creative peak, armed with sequencers and head torches, delivering a masterclass in live hardware improvisation. Organizers credit this specific night with opening the site’s main stages to dance music. For those who weren't in the mud three decades ago, this record finally offers the complete, unedited document of the night the underground took over the field.
