Kelela taps PinkPantheress for a standout single ahead of her third studio album, ‘new avatar’, arriving this Friday.
Kelela has joined forces with PinkPantheress on ‘the bridge’, the latest preview of her upcoming LP, ‘new avatar’. Releasing July 10th via Warp Records, the album moves away from the club-heavy ‘Raven’ era toward her roots in Washington, D.C.’s independent scene.
‘the bridge’ arrives amidst a prolific run for Kelela, following her recent live album recorded at NYC’s Blue Note. The new record features an intentional roster of collaborators, including A.K. Paul and Fousheé, centering on technical songwriting and stripped-back production.
PinkPantheress joins the project following her historic BRITs win for Producer of the Year. Her contribution to ‘the bridge’ follows recent work with Four Tet, further cementing her influence on the current electronic landscape.
Kelela supports the release with the New Avatar Live world tour, beginning this September in North America before heading to Europe and London’s Brixton Academy in November.
