Fort X Festival Debuts Inside a Medieval Slovenian Castle With Dixon, Âme, Maceo Plex & More

A new chapter in Europe's destination festival scene begins this September as Fort X Festival makes its debut inside the spectacular grounds of Mokrice Castle in Slovenia. Taking place on 5 September 2026, the boutique event has been designed around one of the continent's most remarkable historic locations, transforming the medieval fortress and its surrounding woodland into an immersive setting for underground house and techno. Rather than building a conventional festival site, Fort X embraces the castle's centuries-old architecture, weaving stages through hidden courtyards, ancient stone walls and forest pathways. As daylight fades, bespoke lighting, projection mapping and carefully curated production transform the venue into a cinematic open-air experience before sunrise sessions carry the music into Sunday morning. The inaugural edition brings together an exceptional lineup of internationally respected artists, led by Dixon, Âme DJ, Maceo Plex, Jimi Jules, Butch and Nic Fanciulli, alongside Fiona Kraft, Mimi x Fy, Aney F., Elena Mikac, Joe Quinn and Pablo Panda. Rather than packing the schedule with short performances, Fort X has intentionally focused on longer sets and a limited-capacity audience, creating an atmosphere where the music can truly unfold. The project is presented in collaboration with BSH Events and Main Stage Travel, the team behind acclaimed destination festivals including Kala Festival on the Albanian Riviera and Snowboxx in the French Alps. Together, they bring years of experience creating immersive festivals that combine exceptional music with extraordinary locations, and Fort X continues that philosophy in one of Europe's most unique heritage sites.
