Erling Haaland and Kygo Top Norwegian Charts with Flow Kingz Rework

Erling Haaland and Kygo Top Norwegian Charts with Flow Kingz Rework

A teenage rap experiment from Norway’s star striker hits No. 1 after a tropical house polish from Kygo.

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has claimed the top spot on Norway’s Spotify Top 50. The track, 'Kygo Jo,' is a rework by Kygo of a 2016 song originaly recorded by Haaland and his U17 teammates under the name Flow Kingz. The collaboration was sparked by a bet. Kygo promised a remix if Haaland scored against Brazil; following Norway's 2-1 victory, the producer delivered. The resulting track features Haaland’s original vocals over Kygo’s signature tropical production. Haaland has long been vocal about his dance music interests. The Manchester City forward is a noted fan of Solomun, frequently citing the selector's 2015 Boiler Room set as a primary inspiration. Haaland recently described the feeling of listening to the German house titan as having a "nightclub in his head." Beyond the charts, Haaland is currently leading Norway’s national team through the 2026 World Cup cycle. With this release, he officially bridges the gap between the pitch and the booth, lightheartedly questioning if he is now a full-time artist.
