Darude's Helsinki 7K fun run returns on August 29th. The route guides participants through the specific urban locations featured in the 1999 'Sandstorm' music video, concluding at Kaivopuisto Park.
Following the run, the Finnish producer will headline a concert alongside Rony Rex, DJ Kasumisu, and LÅU-RA. The event serves as both a fitness challenge and a localized tribute to the track's enduring influence.
Now in its second year, the event has expanded its reach, with registrations already confirmed from over 32 countries. The inaugural 2024 run saw roughly 850 international participants gather to celebrate the single's 25th anniversary.
Darude remains active on his 2026 global tour, with scheduled appearances in Los Angeles and New York ahead of the Helsinki event.
