Electronic music pioneer Carl Cox has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his lifelong contributions to the UK music scene.
The King’s Birthday Honours List 2026 has officially recognized Carl Cox for his significant impact on the arts. The house and techno veteran, whose career spans four decades, received an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire).
Cox was joined by fellow dance mainstay Judge Jules, who was appointed an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire). The list recognizes individuals who have provided long-standing service to the cultural and social fabric of the UK.
