While massive firework displays have been curtailed due to wildfire risks, the financial impact for the residents surrounding Tomorrowland remains consistent. A recent VRT News survey shows locals are bypassing traditional hospitality to provide essential services to attendees.
Community organizations, including the Reetse Veteranen Vrienden football club, report earnings upwards of 3,000 euros by operating drink stalls near the Dreamville campsite. For these groups, the two-weekend event covers their annual operating costs, from pitch maintenance to kit cleaning.
Individual residents are similarly leveraging the surge in demand. Short-term rentals in Boom are currently fetching 900 euros per night for multi-room stays, while garden camping spots in nearby Rumst are listing for 500 euros a weekend. Most listings are snapped up within 24 hours of posting.
The trend highlights a pragmatic shift in how host towns interact with mega-festivals. Beyond the corporate gate, Tomorrowland has effectively become a temporary micro-economy for the people living in its footprint.
