The venue has been given a mere two weeks to vacate, a move management states would lead directly to bankruptcy.
The dispute centers on the 'sociocultural L'—an area of the site housing the club alongside 80 other creative projects, including artist studios and a skate park. Kurth Group claims tenants have failed to meet rent obligations and used the space for unauthorized purposes. Local developers have long sought to convert the zone into a commercial and residential hub.
Cassiopeia's leadership describes the venue as the complex's 'anchor,' warning that its removal jeopardizes the surrounding ecosystem. While the Berlin Senate and district officials have voiced opposition to the landlord’s decision, the timeline remains critical.
Management is currently attempting to negotiate the deadline and ensure staff protections. In a statement via Instagram, the club confirmed they are currently fighting the order and are not ready to fold.
