A new hi-fi sanctuary arrives in Belfast this July, prioritizing vinyl culture and custom sound design for a city with deep electronic roots.
Belfast gets its first dedicated listening bar next month with the launch of Music Room. Located on Church Lane, the venue is a collaboration between DJ-producer OJ Wilson and Janine Kane of The Spaniard, filling a gap in the city’s storied nightlife for high-fidelity, music-first spaces.
The audio experience is anchored by a custom-built setup from sound designer Toby Hatchett. Influenced by international models like Dublin’s Fidelity and spaces in Paris and Ibiza, the bar focuses on technical precision and deep listening over standard club dynamics.
Beyond the booth, the venue leans on local expertise, partnering with record shop Sound Advice and streetwear label Never Never. The menu is handled by Drinksology and consultant Gregory Buda, ensuring the beverage program matches the acoustic standards.
Music Room opens July 1. It’s a targeted addition to Belfast’s infrastructure, catering to a community looking to disconnect from the heavy rotation of the club circuit and engage with discovery in a more analytical environment.
