Bae Bae Signs to Planet Mu with 'Gauze' EP

Los Angeles-based producer Bae Bae lands on Planet Mu with a percussion-heavy record dedicated to Palestinian solidarity.

Bae Bae joins the Planet Mu roster for 'Gauze', an EP that bridges heavy-duty club aesthetics with urgent political commentary. The title refers to the textile's origins in Gaza, framing the music as a direct response to the ongoing occupation of Palestine. The project integrates field recordings captured in Gaza, including a call to prayer from a destroyed mosque and documentary audio from hospitals. These elements sit alongside the voice of the late Palestinian activist Ghassan Kanafani. Sonically, the EP is built on a foundation of garage, footwork, and jungle. It prioritizes rhythmic complexity and percussive drive, moving beyond standard floor-fillers to create something more substantial. Proceeds from 'Gauze' go to the Sameer Project, a diaspora-led initiative providing aid to displaced families. It is a record that demands attention through both its sonic architecture and its mission.
